我一直有一个想法，没有任何证据，只是频繁阅读之后的直觉：我觉得写作《道德经》的老子是一个盲人。
而且把他的出函谷关的散叙整理爬梳为《道德经》——把函谷关当作一个函数，这个概念何其高远，只有数学差的人才能摆脱数学本相的地心引力，道在变成家和教之后，它的高级性出现了降维特征，把言语编成经，本身就是反讽的行为。老子说：信言不美，美言不信。如果什么阿猫阿狗都说道德经很厉害，那么道德经就low了。
如果老子是盲人，而且还能用诗经时代的史诗方式吟唱，不求绵长无限，而是精简克制的5000文字，他立刻比《荷马史诗》高级：老子的时代，一定见过世面，想象过宇宙的尽头，洞见过微妙和希夷，但是，老子没有把道德经写成（口述成）一个族群精神文本（ethno text而是homo text），也就是一个抽象文献。像是对人类、人类文化、人类行为的说明书和知识手册，所以他很高级。更关键的是，我觉得《道德经》的文字只是老子抠脚丫时候口述的东西，他的言语青铜、文字黼黻根本没有留下来。我这些没有任何证据的猜想，代表了我对早期中国的偏爱和执念。
于是，在10月15日，有了下面的行旅和创述。

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. “I love it,” she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.这位文雅的女性可以有条件从容，有尊严地进行日常移动，让我想象她的社会也是可以装载文雅的容器，尽管她的社会也有无限多的问题和瑕疵。
“Mrs. Jones, you haven’t seen the room …. just wait.”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” she replied.“Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged, it’s how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;请注意她说话的语气，年纪大的人有一个特点：他们/她们说话的魅力，不仅是说出什么，而是选择说话的时间和话语容量。
I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away, just for this time in my life.”对于老年人来说，他们/她们的地心引力不来自地球，而是来自床。很多中国老人气色不好，不是因为不会化妆或者不懂吃，而是不知道出门的时候，要把自己背上的床摘下来。
She went on to explain, “Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.”老年是一个储蓄提现行为。制度是，文化是，文明也是。粗粝久了，自然想念文化，缺什么补什么。求什么，求不得什么。
And with a smile, she said: “Remember the five simple rules to be happy：请注意这些段落，我觉得老子道德经在经文之外，讲了很多琐碎的小话，通通被编述和记述人删除了。于是，出现了文本的词条特征和工具特征。

2. Free your mind from worries.【无忧无虑】
3. Live simply.【简单】
4. Give more.【付出更多】
5. Expect less, & enjoy every moment.【无盼无妄：象罔 草莽】
